One day an martian was taking a walk around the moon when he came upon a young alien surrounded by fallen astronauts, their spaceships worn and bent no longer able to make the long journey home.
“What are you doing?” the old martian asked.
“Throwing these astronauts back to Earth,” our young friend replied.
“Why?” questioned the martian.
“Because if I don’t, they’ll die,” the young alien said matter-of-factly.
“But child, the moon is littered with astronauts. For miles and miles there’s stranded astronauts,” the martian said. “You can’t possibly make a difference!”
At this, the young alien looked at the astronaut in his hand. His suit worn, his eyes tired. The young alien gripped the astronaut a little tighter, swung his arm back, and threw the astronaut with all his might.
“It made a difference to that one,” he said smiling.
